School-Based Traineeship Program at JBS Australia’s Beef City Feedlot in Queensland Australia gets underway

JBS Australia’s Beef City Feedlot is thrilled to announce the launch of its very first School-Based Traineeship Program. This marks a significant milestone in our commitment to industry excellence and workforce development.

Investing in the Future

As part of our ongoing dedication to growth and innovation, the Traineeship program is designed to foster new talent within the agricultural sector. It provides practical, on-the-job training combined with structured learning – a perfect blend for those embarking on their career journey.

The First Trainee

Nicole from local Pittsworth State High School commenced with Beef City Feedlot in February 2024, and has an agricultural background, bringing a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to the environment. Nicole will be immersed in every aspect of feedlot operation, from animal husbandry to nutrition, and environmental management.

Daily Life as a Trainee

Nicole will experience the hustle and bustle of daily life at the feedlot, commencing one day a week as she balances the traineeship with her last year at school. With mentorship from seasoned professionals, Nicole will develop skills that are not only valuable but essential for the future of sustainable farming practices.

A Supportive Learning Environment

At Beef City Feedlot, we believe in nurturing talent through a supportive community. Our trainee will receive continuous guidance and feedback, from the Feedlot, Apprentice Centre and the JBS Registered Training Organisation, ensuring their professional growth aligns with the high standards expected at our facility and in the training.

Looking Ahead

The success of this program will pave the way for future School-Based traineeships, as we aim to build a robust pipeline of skilled individuals ready to take on the challenges of the industry.

We encourage all our team members to extend a warm welcome to Nicole and supporting her in her learning journey!
