JBS Australia teams come together for the 2024 BeefEx Conference
JBS Australia was well represented at the 2024 BeefEx Conference in Brisbane, joining hundreds of industry leaders for the event from Oct. 15-18.
Representatives from JBS’s Beef City, Mungindi, Caroona, Riverina, Prime City and Yambinya Station Feedlots, along with members of the JBS Northern Livestock, Feedlots and Marketing teams, and Corporate Training and Communications teams joined more than 800 BeefEx delegates at the event.
The jam-packed two day program heard from speakers on topics from across the globe and closer to home.
EU political scientist and commentator Professor Ralph Schoellhammer spoke about the ongoing issues faced by farmers around the world, encouraging the crowd of grain fed beef producers that “those who are capable of doing things best should do more of it”.
Charlie Arnot, CEO of Center for Food Integrity shared the importance of leading meaningful conversations with values first, then the science. “Treat data like salt, a little goes a long way.”
Howard Parry-Husbands, CEO of research consultancy; Pollinate shared that whilst only 6% of consumers will put their hand into their pocket to pay for sustainable claims, the general population just want to “not feel guilty” about eating red beef.
The menu across three days of events heavily featured beef products from JBS Northern, JBS Southern and Andrews Meat Industries with the Gala Dinner on Wednesday night offering delegates W. Black Wagyu beef & tuna tartare, Portoro natural grain fed beef sirloin and Yardstick MB 2+ chargrilled beef fillet.
The team left the conference inspired, energised and well fed.
